Chairman, Ta Ha Foundation
Khayrul is an IT consultant with over 25 years’ experience, primarily working in educational settings. He combines technical expertise with a deep commitment to grassroots service, having worked closely with mosques and charitable organisations in the Muslim community.
An alumnus of the prestigious Brunel University, Khayrul’s foundation in engineering underpins his analytical approach and problem-solving skills. Beyond his professional life, he enjoys travelling—especially visiting places of Islamic heritage, where history, culture, and faith intersect.
Deeply engaged in community activity, Khayrul is passionate about inviting others to Islam and contributing positively to the spiritual and social wellbeing of others. He strives to build bridges, inspire learning, and support shared growth through service.
Kamal Hussain
Co-Chairman, Ta Ha Foundation
Kamal is deeply committed to community engagement and promoting Islam. For over 20 years, he has actively supported initiatives that strengthen Muslim communities, educate others about the faith, and invite people to explore Islam. As Co-Chairman of the Ta Ha Foundation, he brings vision, leadership, and dedication to projects that foster social development, education, and spiritual growth.
With a background as a design consultant, Kamal has worked across digital and print for organisations and local councils. His professional experience in branding, user experience, and creative strategy informs his structured and impactful approach to community projects.
Nasrul Islam
Events Coordinator, Ta Ha Foundation
With over 20 years of experience in the education sector, Nasrul has held senior leadership roles demonstrating a strong commitment to academic excellence and community development. He has worked closely with Muslim organisations such as the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) and the Association of Muslim Schools (AMS), supporting initiatives that strengthen Muslim communities and advance education.
Nasrul holds a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies and has lived and worked in the Middle East, giving him a well-rounded understanding of Islamic history, theology, and culture. Passionate about Islamic heritage, he enjoys visiting historical sites and is dedicated to community engagement and outreach, promoting understanding through compassion, knowledge, and respect.
Mohammed Wakeel
Current affairs advisor
Mohammed is an experienced community activist who has been actively involved in grassroots community work for many years. He holds a postgraduate qualification in law and a degree in the social sciences, combining academic knowledge with practical engagement at the community level.
Mohammed has a strong interest in politics and the relationship between community activism and social reform. He has also published articles exploring Islam and modern-day political discourse, contributing thoughtful perspectives on faith, society, and contemporary challenges. Driven by a commitment to positive change, he continually strives to contribute to a better, more just society.
Dr Safaruk Chowdhury
Islamic Affairs Advisor
Dr Safaruk Chowdhury is the Academic Director of the Centre for Islamic Knowledge. He read Philosophy at King’s College London, where he also earned the Associate of King’s College (AKC) award. He then travelled to Cairo to study the traditional Islamic Studies curricula at Al-Azhar University. Returning to the UK, he completed his MA with distinction at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
He has authored numerous academic articles in Islamic philosophy and theology, particularly in the areas of ethics, metaphysics, logic, and epistemology. His most recent monograph, Islamic Theology and the Problem of Evil (New York and Cairo: The American University in Cairo Press, 2021), represents the first sustained treatment of the subject in Islamic Studies through the lens of analytic theology.
